The Heavenly Peace Lutheran Fellowship is sponsored by the Division For Outreach of the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America( ELCA ). It is created primarily for the Chinese community in Portland. It is nonetheless open to all who are interested in the Christian faith.
Pastor Andrew Yong and his wife Terry Yang were ordained ministers of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, China before Pastor Andrew joined ELCA as mission developer in Portland,Oregon in December 2004.They have a heart for the Chinese people who are interested in the Christian faith but are too shy to attend an American church on their own. Thus the creation of tthe Heavenly Peace Lutheran Fellowship.Pastor Andrew speaks English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
