經文 Scripture

以賽亞書The Book of  Isaiah 第 58 章 

 
1    你要大聲喊叫,不可止息;揚起聲來,好像吹角。向我百姓說明他們的過犯;向雅各家說明他們的罪惡。  'Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins.

2    他們天天尋求我,樂意明白我的道,好像行義的國民,不離棄他們神的典章,向我求問公義的判語,喜悅親近神。 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God.

3    他們說:我們禁食,你為何不看見呢?我們刻苦己心,你為何不理會呢?看哪,你們禁食的日子仍求利益,勒逼人為你們作苦工。  Why have we fasted, and thou seest it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and thou takest no knowledge of it?' Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.

4    你們禁食,卻互相爭競,以凶惡的拳頭打人。你們今日禁食,不得使你們的聲音聽聞於上。 Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.

5    這樣禁食豈是我所揀選、使人刻苦己心的日子麼?豈是叫人垂頭像葦子,用麻布和爐灰鋪在他以下麼?你這可稱為禁食、為耶和華所悅納的日子麼?  Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the LORD?

6    我所揀選的禁食不是要鬆開凶惡的繩,解下軛上的索,使被欺壓的得自由,折斷一切的軛麼?   'Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?

7    不是要把你的餅分給飢餓的人,將飄流的窮人接到你家中,見赤身的給他衣服遮體,顧恤自己的骨肉而不掩藏麼?   Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

8    這樣,你的光就必發現如早晨的光;你所得的醫治要速速發明。你的公義必在你前面行;耶和華的榮光必作你的後盾。  Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you, the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

9    那時你求告,耶和華必應允;你呼求,他必說:我在這裡。你若從你中間除掉重軛和指摘人的指頭,並發惡言的事, Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am. 'If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

10    你心若向飢餓的人發憐憫,使困苦的人得滿足,你的光就必在黑暗中發現;你的幽暗必變如正午。  if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

11    耶和華也必時常引導你,在乾旱之地使你心滿意足,骨頭強壯。你必像澆灌的園子,又像水流不絕的泉源。    And the LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12    那些出於你的人必修造久已荒廢之處;你要建立拆毀累代的根基。你必稱為補破口的,和重修路徑與人居住的。     And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.

13    你若在安息日掉轉(或作:謹慎)你的腳步,在我聖日不以操作為喜樂,稱安息日為可喜樂的,稱耶和華的聖日為可尊重的;而且尊敬這日,不辦自己的私事,不隨自己的私意,不說自己的私話, If you turn back your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the LORD honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;

14    你就以耶和華為樂。耶和華要使你乘駕地的高處,又以你祖雅各的產業養育你。這是耶和華親口說的。   then you shall take delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.'           



等候耶和華的
必重新得力,
他们必如鷹展翅上騰。


以賽亞书40:39

ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES

The world is coming to an end, so they say..................

What shall we do as the people of God ?

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."   ( Isaiah 40:31)

There is not much we can do to change the world.

We can however find ways to battle the odds and create new grounds for ourselves :

We can reach out one to another  and  share our feelings.

We can help one another to discover hidden blessings behind set-backs and mishaps.

We can rejoice and celebrate from moment to moment, from day to day.

We can laugh and sing and dance.

We can learn to pray powerful prayers.

We can extend our lives to domains and territories we never knew.

We can receive great blessings and become even greater blessings to others.

These, and much more, are what Jesus Christ had taught us through His life and His teaching.

He had demonstrated on the cross how one can actually DIE to win.

The core of the matter is called FAITH, believing wholeheartedly in the goodness of God and in His ability to save us in all situations.

Jesus said one should build on the ROCK, and not on sinking sand.

By this He meant FAITH in the LIVING AND LOVING GOD.

Would you like to list the things you can do when you have established  yourself on the Rock of  Ages ?

You only have to trust in God to give you all the strength you need.

"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fulness of God." ( The apostle Paul wrote to God's people at Ephesus / Ephesians 3:14-19 )
